All over the country, the long-awaited summer vacation has begun. The Russian Seasons video platform prepared special broadcasts for the youngest viewers - the Ant's Journey musical and the children's opera The Cat's House by the St. Petersburg Children's Musical Theater Zazerkalye. The broadcasts will take place at 19:00 CET.
On Tuesday, June 7, a broadcast of the Ant's Journey musical will be held. The plot of Vitaly Bianki's textbook story "How the Ant Hurried Home" preserved its core - a story of a young ant far from home that hurries back to his anthill and worries that he must be there before sunset or the guards will close the entrance - but changed in detail along with the changing world.
Directed by Anna Snegova and conducted by Pyotr Maximov, the musical promises the audience the creation of a humane and wise performance, and at the same time, spectacular, full of unexpected turns and quirky characters. Not only the music itself plunges you into the atmosphere of a fairy tale, but also the scenery and costumes, created by the show's artist, Irina Dolgova. The performance is nominated for the All-Russian Theater Award "Golden Mask" in six nominations.
On Thursday, June 9 , audiences will see the children's opera "The Cat's House," a recent premiere by the Zazerkalye Theatre. Each new generation discovers this story in books, on the screen, and the theater stage. What happened to the rich, arrogant Cat, who suddenly found herself empty-handed, can probably be retold by every child. Not long ago, she despised her poor relatives and only opened the door of her house to her wealthy neighbors. And now, after the fire, they are no longer interested in the Cat, and the same kittens shelter her that she would not let on the doorstep. With the help of the writer and the hints of their parents, children learn that happiness is not in wealth, that nothing in this world is eternal except friendship, and that true friends are found in trouble.
Composer Anatoly Shukh's children's opera is written with humor and love for each character. Production by Alexander Petrov, People's Artist of Russia; musical director and conductor - Honored Artist of Russia Arkady Shteinlukht; costumes and decorations - Honored Artist of Russia Natalia Klemina; choreographer - Olga Krasnykh.
"Zazerkalye" is one of the best musical theaters in St. Petersburg. The theater's repertoire includes both children's and adult productions - masterpieces of world opera classics, symphony concerts, chamber music evenings, and seasonal cycles for children of different ages.
As usual, the broadcasts will be available at 19:00 CET.
