'Initially, while conceiving the'Blue Bird', we wished to introduce the entire Russia to a new generation of our gifted children who live in different parts of the country and are engaged in the kinds of art in which Russia traditionally leads the world. These are ballet, academic singing, instrumental performance, circus arts, including certain sports, rhythmic gymnastics and free callisthenics, for instance, where our guys score the top places. And it is very gratifying that due to'Russian Seasons'that are engaged in the promotion of Russian culture the world over, we have the opportunity to present our performers to the audiences of'Russian Seasons'as well,' stated the project author and the presenter of the Blue Bird Contest Daria Zlatopolskaya.
Blue Bird is an open All-Russian young talent Contest of Rossiya 1 TV Channel that started in autumn 2015. For the first time in the history of Russian television, the major types of modern performing arts such as solo singing - classical, folk and variety ones, playing musical instruments - academic and folk ones, choreography - classical ballet, ballroom and folk dance, circus art and some other genres were presented by children as part of a single contest.
Blue Bird brought together those who dance, sing, play musical instruments, perform elaborate acrobatic and gymnastic acts. Among the jury members of the competition is pianist Denis Matsuev.
The international cultural project 'Russian Seasons' supports young talents and works closely with the organizing committee and jury of the Blue Bird Contest. Thus, in January 2018, a young piano prodigy from Stavropol, 6-year winner of Blue Bird Elisey Mysin sterred at the opening ceremony of 'Russian Seasons' in Italy that took place at the National Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome.
At the beginning of 2019, at the opening of the 'Russian Seasons' Festival in Germany, an 11-year-old pianist, winner of the 'Golden Nutcracker' and the audience award 'Sympathy' of the XVIII International Competition of Young Musicians 'The Nutcracker' Alexandra Dovgan played at the Berlin Philharmonic. She performed compositions by F. Chopin and I. S. Bach. In the summer of 2019, Alexandra triumphantly performed at Young Euro Classic, the largest festival of youth orchestras in Europe, along with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Tatarstan under the auspices of 'Russian Seasons'. Performances by Elisey Mysin and Alexandra Dovgan were also included in the 'Stay Home with Russian Seasons' webcasts program.
