Online platform Stay Home with Russian Seasons welcomes the audience to see a concert from the Throne room of the Catherine’s Palace, listen to compositions of George Handel and see how maestro Yury Bashmet and his ensemble perform online. On March 30, Tuesday (6+) the program involves broadcast of the concert in one of the most beautiful palaces of the world – the Throne room of the Catherine Palace. This evening will commemorate the managing director of the “Tsarskoe Selo” State Museum and Heritage Ivan Petrovich Sautov. International festival of classical music “Palaces of St. Petersburg” will present masterpieces of the Baroque era, as well as works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Handel. The chapters of history of the Catherine Palace will be covered by a journalist, a member of the Toponymic Commission Alexey Erofeev. The artistic director of the festival is Maria Safaryants.
The concert involves such participants as one of the most virtuosic violists of our time, Andrey Dogadin, Honored Artist of Russia violinist Maria Safaryants, one of the best oboists of St. Petersburg – Alexey Golovin, the famous opera singer Denis Sedov, who gained hearts of the public thanks to his unique vocal abilities, voice power and artistry. The singer was widely known for his performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at the opening ceremony of the XVIII Winter Olympic Games in 1998 in Nagano.
The concert will feature the most complex bass arias, rarely performed arias from operas and oratorios by George Frideric Handel, as well as the pearl of Mozart's instrumental heritage – the concert symphony for violin and viola with orchestra. A special gift for music lovers will be the performance of the finest melodrama by Pyotr Tchaikovsky from the music to the fairy tale “The Snow Maiden Snegurochka”.
On April 1, Thursday (6+) a special concert of the X Anniversary International Music Festival of Yury Bashmet and the Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra will be shown. Yury Bashmet is a violist, conductor, teacher, public person, ambassador of the “Russian Seasons”. The gala concert took place on November 22, 2020 in Moscow at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. The program includes performances by David Bismuth (piano, France), Maria Tilyuk (violin), Mikhail Beznosov (clarinet) as well as the famous theater and film actor Mikhail Porechenkov. And certainly the main actors of the concert will be maestro Yury Bashmet himself, a Grammy Award winner, and the Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra.
The concert will feature works by Enry Lolashvili (adagio “Nostalgia” for viola and strings), Joseph Haydn (Concerto No. 11 in D major for piano and orchestra), Fritz Kreisler (Concerto in C major “in the style of A. Vivaldi” for violin and orchestra), Gioachino Rossini (introduction, theme and variations for clarinet and orchestra) and Vladimir Mayakovsky (“Cloud in Trousers”, which is a musical and literary action to the music of Sergei Prokofiev, Igor Stravinsky, Dmitry Shostakovich, artistic expression by the famous actor Mikhail Porechenkov).
